Welcome and thank you for visiting our website.
We aim
to keep our site simple but informative.
We
know that deciding on a nursery place for your child is a very personal decision. It is important to get all
of the facts about the facility before you decide.
We understand these concerns and we hope that our website will
help you in your decision about Our Day Care Facility. We have put information about our facilities, programs, staff,
and philosophy here for you to learn more about us.
Mary Poppins is an established Day Nursery
and Independent Baby Unit founded in 1989, registered with Ofsted under the new children act.
The Nursery is situated at the quiet end of Chain Lane opposite the Muirfield estate
entrance on the border of Littleover and Mickleover approximately half a mile from the Royal Derby City and General Hospital.
Mary Poppins Day Nursery is situated in a large Victorian style detached property,
which has been sympathetically converted specifically and exclusively as a Day Nursery and Independent Baby Unit, creating
a warm and friendly environment in which your child will thrive.
In addition to our Independent Baby unit, we have seven activity rooms accommodating small groups of children 1 to
5 years of age. We felt that by accommodating smaller groups we would be able to segregate according to age/development.
There are numerous activities that the children will participate in, developing
their personality and potential to the full: Art, Creativity, Construction , Role play, Outdoor play, Gymnastics, Sensory
experiences, Singing and much much more!
Each group of
children are cared for by qualified and experienced members of staff, under the overall supervision of the Principals.
It is our aim that each group of children are cared for by the same member
of staff in order to maintain the best possible progress and reporting procedure to parents.
A written child development
and progress chart (profile/learning journey) is in operation, reports will be made available to parents on a three or six
month basis depending on the child’s age and stage of development.
